What the heck is Erythematosus?!

So, we are arriving at Connor's second completed week of med school and we have plenty of flashcards to show for it! He had his first quiz this Monday, which involved over 100 flashcards on medical terms. He's now studying some more for his second quiz next week. I hope he has enough space in that big brain of his to store all of this heavy information. I can barely pronounce some of these words! Like dyspareunia... umm what?

We are still waiting to move into our new apartment. Living out of bags has been pretty crazy. I'm starting to feel kind of anxious as I try to navigate through all of the luggage! I can't wait to finally get the keys to our new home and start decorating! It will be so nice to have our own space again. I forgot what my cozy bed feels like! :O

I start student teaching next Tuesday (conveniently on the same day as we move in to our apartment). I'm so excited to get in the classroom and meet the students. I'm very nervous, but I know I'm going to learn so much and gain some really cool experiences. Hopefully the high school kids don't kill me! ;)

Today I went on a boat with our new friends. It was such a fun time. I kind of got sea sick, but not as bad as usual. I don't think I'm meant for the water (I am a Leo after all! Cats and water don't mix), but I had a great time relaxing under the sun and seeing some beautiful scenery. There were huge mansions all around the border of the bay. It was gorgeous! I also went to my first Zumba class today and my legs are unbelievably sore. I can't believe people can jump around for that long. But I guess that's a great way to lose weight. It was really fun though. I laughed a lot with Jaime (she invited me to her class). I think I'm going to go again and try to get the hang of those crazy dance moves! WOOP WOOP

Diving Right In

Hello! My name is Mandy. I'm a soon-to-be ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and the fiancee of a DO medical student. My fiance, Connor and I have been together for three years and will be married next June. We are so close to moving in to our dream apartment and beginning our exciting life together in our new home. We've had a very "interesting" start to this adventure, but it's made us stronger than ever!

I decided to start this blog as a way to share all the details of my fiance's nutty medical school life and my experience as a teacher with all of our close family and friends. But I also wanted a way to connect to other ladies who are currently experiencing (or have experienced) the unique life of being married to a medical student. I hope to be inspired by their unwavering love for their brilliant hubbies and their very creative ways of staying busy! I love baking, cooking, decorating, teaching, pinning on Pinterest, and watching bad reality TV (I know, but it's so entertaining!). I can't wait to share all my new and fun experiences as the two of us begin this very exciting adventure together!

Love,
Mandy
